Why do conservatives whine when abortion is no where near as bad as what michael vick did to those dogs?

Ummmmm sorry dude, I'm about as liberal as it gets and this really doesn't make any logical sense to me. To connect these two issues is like when cons say, "We can't allow gays to get married - what's next, getting married to your dog?" which of course makes no sense either.
