High school track and field... Sprinting?

I personally don't believe in that "natural talent" junk. What, you think every olympic runner was born to be an olympic runner just because they have special running blood? You think they slack off all day and not do any training because they have that natural talent and don't need to? NO! They work their butt off every day, week, month, year!! What it takes to be an extremely awesome runner is determination, motivation, and discipline. If you keep believing that you can make state, of course you will be able to, but negative talks will get you nowhere. BELIEVE you can do it! How can you improve? you can improve by working on that upper muscles of yours. To get that speed, you need great leg muscles and upper muscles. You need that good leg muscles so you can get a more powerful and faster kick off the ground. Do push-ups, squat thrusts, anything that will work out your legs and upper muscles! Keep working on it and work out 3 days a week and no more than that. Build your mental strength! (Your ability to keep working out or run no matter how tired or how much your body tells you to stop) Good Luck!
